What It Is

What Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM Actually Is

Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM is not one product. It is a set of customer apps that each handle a different part of the relationship, built on one shared data platform called Dataverse.

Marketing uses Customer Insights Journeys to attract and nurture leads. Sales uses Dynamics 365 Sales to work those leads into closed business. Customer Service handles questions and issues after the sale, and Field Service sends technicians to the job when the work happens on site.

Because every app reads and writes the same customer record, nobody re-keys data or wonders which spreadsheet is current. A seller sees open service cases before a renewal call. A technician sees the contract terms before arriving. Marketing sees which campaigns produced revenue, not just clicks. That shared record is what separates a CRM your team tolerates from one they rely on.

One Customer Record in Dataverse

Customer Insights Journeys captures the lead and every email, event, and form it touches
Sales works the opportunity with that full history in view
Customer Service resolves cases with the account, contract, and order history attached
Field Service dispatches technicians with assets, warranties, and past visits on the work order
Power BI and Copilot report and answer questions across all of it

Our Approach

How We Implement Dynamics 365 CRM

No rigid templates, and no reimplementation as you grow. Every phase is built so the next one adds to it instead of replacing it.

  1. 1

    Discover

We map how your teams actually sell, serve, and market today, including the workarounds, before we touch the system.

  2. 2

    Design

We design the data model, security, and processes around your business, then review it with you before building.

  3. 3

    Build

Our engineers configure, customize, and integrate in short cycles, with working demos you can react to.

  4. 4

    Launch

We migrate your data, train your team on their real workflows, and stay close through go-live.

  5. 5

    Optimize

After launch we keep improving: new automations, reports, and apps added to the foundation you already own.

Remote by Default, Onsite When It Counts

Most of the work happens over Teams, with direct access to the engineers building your system. When a process walk-through, go-live, or field ride-along goes better in person, we come to you. Our team is based in Covington, Kentucky, and we deliver Dynamics 365 CRM projects for clients nationwide.

AI and Copilot

A CRM That Does What You Ask It To

Dynamics 365 ships with Microsoft Copilot built in. We configure it, and we go further, connecting Claude and custom agents to your Dynamics 365 data through the Model Context Protocol so your team can create records, update opportunities, and get answers in plain language.

Copilot in Every App

Summarize an account before a call, draft a case reply, or generate a journey from a prompt, all inside Dynamics 365.

Claude, Connected to Your CRM

Ask questions across accounts, cases, and pipeline in natural language, with answers drawn from your own data and permissions.

Governed by Design

Agents respect Dataverse security roles. People approve what gets written back. Nothing leaves your tenant without a reason.

Licensing & Cost

What Drives the Cost of Dynamics 365 CRM

Every Dynamics 365 CRM project has two costs: Microsoft licensing, billed per user per month, and the implementation itself. Both depend on a handful of factors you can control.

We scope every project in writing before work starts. No squishiness, no surprise billing, no ambiguity.

Pricing Factors

Apps. Which Dynamics 365 apps you license: Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Customer Insights Journeys, or a combination.
Users. How many people need access, and which of them need full licenses versus lighter team-member access.
Licensing tier. Professional or Enterprise capability for each app, chosen per user, not per company.
Data migration. How much data is coming over, from how many systems, and how clean it is today.
Integrations. Connections to ERP, finance, e-commerce, or industry systems you need Dynamics 365 to talk to.

Questions & Answers

Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM FAQs

What is Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM?

Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM is a family of customer relationship management apps from Microsoft: Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, and Customer Insights Journeys. Each app handles a different part of the customer relationship, and all of them share one customer record in Microsoft Dataverse, so marketing, sales, service, and field teams work from the same data.

How much does Dynamics 365 CRM cost?

Cost has two parts: Microsoft licensing and implementation. Licensing is priced per user, per month, and depends on which apps you need and which tier each user requires. Implementation cost depends on scope, data migration, and integrations. Inner Join scopes every project up front, in writing, so you know the full number before work begins.

How long does a Dynamics CRM implementation take?

A focused, single-app implementation can go live in weeks. Multi-app projects with data migration and integrations typically take a few months. The biggest variable is data: the cleaner your existing data is, the faster the project moves. Inner Join phases larger projects so your team starts getting value from the first release while later phases are built.

What is the difference between Dynamics 365 Sales and Customer Insights Journeys?

Dynamics 365 Sales manages one-to-one selling: leads, opportunities, pipeline, and forecasts. Customer Insights Journeys, formerly Dynamics 365 Marketing, manages one-to-many engagement: segments, email, event-triggered journeys, and lead scoring. They share the same contact records, so marketing can hand a qualified lead to a seller with its full engagement history attached.

Can Dynamics 365 integrate with Outlook, Teams, and our existing systems?

Yes. Dynamics 365 works inside Outlook and Teams natively, so sellers and service agents can track email, meetings, and conversations without switching apps. For other systems, such as ERP, finance, e-commerce, or industry software, Inner Join builds integrations using Power Automate, Azure, and the Dataverse APIs. Our Dynamics 365 to NetSuite integration for the Cincinnati Reds has run for ten years.

Is Dynamics 365 CRM a fit for small and midsize businesses?

Yes. Licensing is per user and per app, so a small team can start with one app and a handful of licenses and grow from there. Inner Join works primarily with small and midsize organizations and designs implementations that can expand without being rebuilt.

How does Inner Join deliver Dynamics 365 projects remotely?

Most of our work happens remotely through Teams: discovery workshops, design reviews, build demos, and training. Clients get direct access to the engineers building their system, not a project manager relaying messages. When onsite time adds value, such as process walk-throughs, go-live support, or field ride-alongs, we travel to you.
